About Beardy Synergy – UK Street & Graffiti Artist

My Journey

My journey into street art began back in 2016 whilst working as a youth and community worker. Developing and running a street art project for young people inspired me to pick up a spray can to learn alongside those I worked with. This desire to simply have a go led me into the world of spray painting, from this grew an appreciation for the medium, graffiti culture, and the powerful impact community-facing art can have on people.

My creative background has always been deeply rooted in creating music, but also in art based hobbies like miniature painting and casual sketching/doodling to pass the time and find moments of peace.

Beardy Synergy was formed in 2018 with a close friend during our university studies, with the intention of growing our artistic skills together and nurturing each others creative spark.

This then evolved from messy (what are we even doing) painting sessions in our gardens, to early commissions (after some encouragement from friends/supporters) to where I find myself today. A full time passion project, were I'm blessed to paint and create art for a living.

Inspiration

Cumbria inspires my work through its unique dialect, the stunning environment, and a desire to integrate street-art into the region's zeitgeist.

My original artworks draw from my love for comics/anime, graffiti, the natural world, metal inspired aesthetics, dark art and surrealist artists. Giving you get a heady mix of influences that all seep into my work either overtly or subtly.

Although much of my work is commission based, it affords me continuous opportunities to be inspired through different sources, mediums or perspectives.

My goal is a simple one, regardless of what is being painted, it must be enjoyed by all who see it and get people paying attention.

Collaboration is key

A fundamental part of Beardy Synergy is collaboration.

Whether this be working alongside local creatives sharing knowledge and skills, working with clients to bring their visions to fruition, or supporting young people to engage with street-art through workshops and community murals.

Collaboration provides space to grow, both artistically and personally for all, something that I relish when taking on any project big or small.

"Can't thank Beardy enough for this amazing artwork, blown away by how good it is! Great guy to deal with and so talented."
